What does rPET mean?

What does rPET mean?

PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate. It is a plastic from the polyester family. The term rPET or RPET therefore stands for recycled PET. We speak of rPET when the plastic is made entirely or in part of recycled PET, i.e. recycled polyethylene terephthalate or waste plastic. All Eco Inner Living home textiles are made from 100% recycled PET.

How is rPET made?

PET bottles are a dime a dozen. Why throw them away when you can make something great out of marine plastic? Our recycled plastic bags are handmade, making each one unique. The PET bottles are first cleaned and then processed into plastic pellets from which strong threads are pulled. The recycled material is then woven and dyed by our artisans, creating a unique design each time. This makes each PET bag truly unique. In addition, our promotional bags are not dyed, but only printed with our logo and eco-friendly ink, making the environmental impact of our bags unique.
